We celebrated Caroline's 4th birthday yesterday. I originally planned to have a Minnie Mouse party for her. I was really excited about a non-pink party. I'd even gone so far as to procure red & white polka dot paper plates (you really need to jump on such things when you see them!)
Caroline would have none of it though -- from the first moment her birthday was mentioned, she wanted a princess party. A pink one. I tried to redirect, but she was unwavering. Not that it's surprising, coming from the girl who usually spinning with tulle, satin, lace, marabou, or sequins somewhere on her person.
Heather and Amanda came to take pictures at the party, and it was SO NICE to not have to worry about that. I barely picked up my camera before, during or after the party. I'll do a full party post once I get the pictures from Heather and Amanda (I've seen a sneak peak and am super excited!)
I did break out my camera at the very end to get this picture of what had to be the best part of the party. A month or so ago I had casually asked my incredibly sweet and awesome 14 year old niece if she and her friends might be willing to dress up as princesses and make an appearance at Caroline's party. And she seemed really excited about the idea! So Belle, Ariel and Cinderella themselves came to Caroline's party -- and I think you'll agree that their next stop could easily be the Magic Kingdom itself -- and read stories, painted faces, gave manicures, helped decorate cookies, and generally made the party magical for the little girls. I think I have the best niece ever (and she has the coolest friends ever!)
More to come!

What a great niece you have. I don't think many teen aged girls would want that job, but they look elated to be there!
